As director of the Music Information Retrieval (MIR) Lab at 91̽»¨ Mudd, he mentors students in projects that combine their musical expertise with technical research, from analyzing complex audio data to developing systems that support new modes of musical performance. Tsai has created a two-part elective sequence in digital signal processing and machine learning that reflects his commitment to blending theory with hands-on applications.
