Faculty, students, and staff are all given Google Workspace accounts for access to their entire Google Apps Suite. For the purpose of email, faculty and students will solely use Google Workspace. Staff are given Microsoft 365 accounts that work in conjunction with Outlook or the Outlook Web App (OWA) for their email use. Alumni retain their Google Workspace accounts indefinitely after graduation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To aid with spam filtering, HMC uses Cisco IronPort in front of a user&#8217;s Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Due to HMC&#8217;s mixed service environment, a user is reachable by multiple email addresses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Faculty and Students<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>username<\/em><strong>@hmc.edu<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>username<\/em><strong>@g.hmc.edu <\/strong>(Google Workspace)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Staff<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>username<\/em><strong>@hmc.edu<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>username<\/em><strong>@g.hmc.edu&nbsp;<\/strong>(Google Workspace)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>username<\/em><strong>@m.hmc.edu&nbsp;<\/strong>(Microsoft 365)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CIS highly recommends giving out\u00a0your @hmc.edu email address. However, you still may choose to use your service specific addresses. The only difference is how mail is routed to its final destination. The <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/0B3M48dV5JsLVNEVITG5TZ0Q1Zms\/view?usp=sharing&amp;resourcekey=0-RIzRiTmKkPwDs_AzKAf2Vw\">HMC Email Flow<\/a> diagram\u00a0explains how mail flow works at HMC when sending to these different addresses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Availability<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Available to faculty, students, staff, alumni, and emeritus at HMC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Access the Service<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For G Suite users, please log into your <a href=\"http:\/\/mail.g.hmc.edu\">HMC Gmail Account with your HMC Credentials<\/a>. When logging into Gmail, enter your full address as <strong><a><em>username<\/em>@g.hmc.edu<\/a><\/strong>.
