He advances the HMC\u2019s mission and strategic vision by leading the creative team responsible for all print, web and other visual products that brand and promote the College. Robert is the lead graphic designer, developing and managing the visual identity of the College. He plans, designs, produces and manages production\u2014internally and through outside vendors\u2014of a variety of projects originating from all campus departments and offices. Find out what Robert likes to do in his free time, what podcast he&#8217;s listening to, the best advice he\u2019s received and more in this Q-and-A.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading h5\">What is your favorite part about your job and why?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I enjoy collaborating with my team as well as all the departments at HMC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading h5\">What is something people don\u2019t understand about your job that you wish they did?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I cannot do my job without the collaboration and cooperation of the HMC community. The work I produce is stronger and more effective the more creative and collaborative brains are involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading h5\">If you could swap jobs with any other HMC employee for a day, who would it be and why?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The dining staff. I love to cook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading h5\">If you could add anything to campus to improve the employee experience, what would it be?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A puppy cafe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading h5\">What\u2019s your favorite food\/dish in the Hoch-Shanahan Dining Hall?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Any stir fry over rice. And cookies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading h5\">What HMC events have made you feel really connected to other HMC colleagues?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The smaller, independent events\/get togethers that individual departments host.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading h5\">What is your favorite hobby, activity or creative outlet?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I enjoy printmaking, camping and playing video games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading h5\">What is the best piece of advice someone has given you, either in life or at work?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Practice serious play. Never stop being a student.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading h5\">What is your most effective strategy for dealing with stress?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Take breaks and listen to ambient music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading h5\">If you could have one superpower, what would it be?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stop time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading h5\">Are you studying or learning something new?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I love learning new things.
